Thoughts On A Recent Performance with Cellist Jan Vogler
JANUARY 29, 2010
Eldar recently performed with cellist Jan Vogler and violinist Mira Wang and had this to say:
On January 25, 2010 I had an opportunity to perform with an incredible cellist Jan Vogler at the Yacht Club of NYC. We played the Bach Sonata in G major together. It is something that I don't get to do very often, and performing with him was very rewarding. Jan Vogler's wife Mira Wang is a phenomenal violinist who also performed at the concert. Jan and Mira played a few excerpts from Bach's Art of the Fugue afterwards. I played a short set of solo piano after them. Following the solo piano set, I wrote an arrangement of my composition "Lullaby Fantazia" for cello, piano, and violin. Playing it with these great musicians through a different point of view was an amazing experience.
